I was cleaning out a box of old photos and came across this one, which I haven't looked at in a couple of years. I'm not sure why it isn't out somewhere in a frame, since it's a favorite of mine. My grandfather and his mother (my great-grandmother) in her little vegetable garden one late summer during the Great Depression.
I do think it does, though sometimes it appears to skip generations...My grandmother has been an avid gardener for most her life and though we do not see eye-to-eye on a lot of things, I definitely admire her ability to make almost anything grow to epic proportions and I have learnt much from her. My aunt and uncle, too, have quite the green thumbs but my parents were hardly interested in greenery when I was younger...and yet even as a toddler I loved to fiddle in the garden.
