The Seasonal Evolution of Limelight Hydrangeas

My friend Laurie, who is the salesperson extraordinaire for Buck Jones Nursery, has taken photos of the Limelight Hydrangeas in front of her business three different times this year, three months apart (July, September, December). The evolution of this plant, combined with the fact that it is virtually maintenance free, makes it a "must have" plant for your full sun areas!

  1. Tim - Thanks for the spark, I have a couple of places that required "something" and I have never seen a "Limelight". Guess I'll be at the local nurseries before Christmas, "do you ?", "can you ?" all the way ...lalalalala.. Thanks again - G

  2. That is wonderful. I like the changes for the 3 seasons of blooms. I think I need to find a place for one at least. Love hydrangeas anyway.

  3. I bet it won't grow up here but it is beautiful. We have only a few that do well here, but there is an oak leaf hydrangea that doesn't freeze out.

  4. Wow! That looks fantastic. If only I had enough space on ground!

  5. I need to see if I can bring these into the store next year. Are they Proven Winners?

  6. Limelight is part of the Proven Winners series. I would be surprised if Lowe's isn't already selling it in some of its stores.

According to the PW website, Limelight is hardy Zones 3 through 8. It blooms on new wood, so can be cut back severely in the spring if you want to keep them smaller. They really come into their glory if allowed to grow large, though.

  7. What a great way to really show how nice it can look all different times of the year. I keep hearing all good things about Limelight. I just wish I had a spot for one.
