5733

5733 is today's pollen count.  According to the Atlanta Allergy and Asthma Clinic's website, anything over 120 is "extremely high."  It's one of those days when the slightest breeze makes the conifers (not the offending trees) look like exploding vaccuum cleaner bags.  Add the pollen to the list of reasons to not have sweetgums in the garden.

Hopefully NASA doesn't mind that I've borrowed their stock photo of this bee.  I can't bring myself to spend any more time outside today, particularly since I have to keep dusting off the lens of the camera.

  1. I love that term, "exploding vacuum cleaner bags". We live next door to a whole row of really big pines on the golf course and you can see it traveling in the wind.

  2. I noticed it has been sort of a yellow smog the past few days when you look off in the distance. Hope the rain helps clean up the air tomorrow.

  3. Our pollen count has been high for the last few weeks with buds of trees coming out and the wind blowing up all sorts of things.

  4. That's quite a pollen count Tim! I bet that there's plenty of sneezing going on. What a great picture.

  5. Crazy! Here in TN it was 300 yesterday! Couldn't wait for it to warm up so we could play outside and now the pollen is keeping us in. Go figure!

  6. I went over a tall bridge that looked out over the harbor, and you could see a yellow/brown cloud drifting off the land.
